“Deilig er jorden” is a traditional psalm with lyrics written by B.S. Ingemann in 1850 to a Schlesian folk tune. In Norway it is often sung while celebrating christmas, but it is also used in funerals, as the lyrics are quite universal in a religious perspective. The psalm is one of the most well known and popular ones in Norway. The lyrics exist in an english translation as well under the names “Fairest Lord Jesus” or “Beautiful Saviour”.
